How to Embed a File Upload Widget in Webflow

Webflow makes it easy to build beautiful websites, but file uploads that save to Google Drive are not built in. DriveWidget solves this with one embed snippet.

What you will need

  • A Webflow site (any plan)
  • A free DriveWidget account
  • A connected Google Drive folder

Step 1: Create your widget

  1. Sign up at drivewidget.com/register
  2. Connect your Google Drive account
  3. Go to Dashboard > Widgets > New Widget
  4. Set a name and pick the destination Drive folder
  5. Copy your Widget ID from the widget settings

Step 2: Add the embed in Webflow

  1. Open your Webflow project in the designer

  2. Drag an Embed element onto the page where you want the upload form

  3. Paste this code into the embed block:

  4. Click Save & Close, then publish your site

Step 3: Test it

Open your published Webflow page and try uploading a file. It should appear in your Google Drive folder within seconds.

Customization options

Webflow CMS tip

If you use Webflow CMS with client pages, add the embed to a CMS template and use a unique widget per client. Each widget points to a different Google Drive subfolder.

Domain whitelist

Go to Widget > Security > Allowed Domains and add your Webflow domain to prevent the widget being used on other sites.
